How to Use a Dreambox and a PC to Receive HD Television Satellite Signal?

An 802.11b wireless LAN cannot achieve the standard since the wireless LAN speed is too slow to bear the HDTV stream. When the hardware is in order, you should make the software ready as well. You need the VLC Media Player for windows. If you are using a Linux OS or a Mac OS, download the VLC Media Player specially designed for them. Now, let’s start to do the following steps. 1. Search the HDTV signal using your Dreambox. You must insure that the strength of the signal is at its optimum. Turn to the HDTV channel just received. 2. Download and install the VLC Media Player for you operating system. 3. Visit the Dreambox though the web. Type in the IP of Dreambox, then click on the number behind vpid. Now, the system will prompt you to restore the file. Restore the file which has the content of the address of the Dreambox stream server. 4. Set up the VLC Media Player. Set the video filters module to deinterlace option. Set the deinterlace option to a status which is suitable for your own comfort. Remember to save after you change the parameter. 5. Connect VLC with Dreambox, open network stream. Type in the address saved in the file stored in step 3, then press OK. Now the VLC Media Player can decode the HDTV stream. Try to remember the address of VLC decode channel, then the next time you just have to open VLC and type in the address. Congratulations, all the work has done, you can watch HDTV on your computer now!
