How to Take Care of Your Satellite TV System Outdoor Equipment – Satellite Antenna
The satellite antenna is a significant part of the Satellite Signal receiver system. It has a mental reflex surface which has a shape of parabola. The antenna helps to reflex the satellite signal to the Low Noise Block inside the feed aperture. So the condition of the satellite antenna can determine the quality of the satellite signal it receives. Satellite Receiver works indoor and it won’t break down if you use it according to the instructions. But the outdoor antenna needs extra maintenance. Then here’s the problem: how can we take care of the satellite antenna?
After the adjustment of the satellite antenna, the antenna’s angle will not alter regularly. In order to eliminate the drift of the satellite, you can change its angle a little according to the actual receiving effects, so that the antenna can reach its optimum. The satellite antenna should be protected by the lighting rod. The basis of satellite antenna and the lighting rod should be touchdown and you must test the system before the raining season comes. The earthing resistance should be less than 4 ohm. The line connects the Low Noise Block and the receiver should be wrapped with mental net and the net should be connected to ground. The membrane of the feed aperture should not be broken and the feed aperture shouldn’t be blocked with water or dirt. If feed aperture and reflex surface was blocked by ice in winter, clean it as quickly as possible. The conjunction of the LNB and the feed line should be sealed with GSB glue or epoxy.
If your satellite antenna is based in regions where typhoon always visits, you should pay more attention to its safety. When typhoon comes, you can drive the antenna to 90 degree, making the reflex surface face to sky. Then fasten the satellite antenna with steel cables, in order to reduce the harmful effects come with typhoon. In an ordinary opinion, the satellite antenna should be painted every two years. If it is placed in bad environmental condition, you should reduce the paint cycle time. You should make sure that the varnish doesn’t break. Lubricating oil should also be smeared to the axle and joint every two years. The protection of the antenna should not be broken so that it could change channel easily.
Most people take care of their satellite receiver but don’t pay attention to the satellite antenna. It’s the time for you to check your antenna, and this would make your receiving of satellite TV programs will more stable.
